CTAM Europe Symposium Media Partners, Advanced Television, report that the CTAM Europe Annual Symposium made a successful return to London’s vibrant Soho on January 26th.

Two top level panel discussions showcased the latest innovations in the worlds of streaming, FAST TV, content distribution and the metaverse. The event was the perfect opportunity to discover and share key learnings from those who are defining the future of content creation, distribution and consumption.

The audience heard from Omdia’s Tim Westcott with an intro to the AVoD/FAST Panel, which included panellists from Paramount, Fremantle, Amagi and SpringServe. The audience learnt about partnerships between content creators, owners and distributors that will transform the consumer experience, and discovered how content producers and service providers are revolutionising their business models.

Metaverse Expert, Nina-Jane Patel, Kabuni, followed with an introduction to The Metaverse – and moderated a panel discussion titled What is the role of Video Content in the Metaverse? And how does it impact traditional business in today’s world? – which saw panellists from BBC Studios, Meta and Muki International discuss their organisation’s key opportunities and how physical and digital worlds are converging – as well as the importance of being able to reach new/younger audiences and stretching IPs.

The afternoon ended with insight into CTAM Europe’s Partner, GIGAEurope, as the new Chairman, Reinald Krüger, was interviewed by Theresa Wise, CEO of the Royal Television Society. Krüger told the audience that network providers are ready for huge demands on their infrastructure. Krüger and Wise also discussed topics including net neutrality and should the sector revisit it, investment in content by operations, cybersecurity, and how operators mitigate the risks associated with an increased reliance on digital services.

Attendees also had the opportunity to form new connections, discuss current in housing and outsourcing trends in content and learn from each other during the networking sessions.

The Flagship CTAM Europe Event; the annual Executive Management Programme returns to INSEAD in March, and preparations are in place for the CTAM Europe Symposium to return in autumn 2023.
