GIGAEurope aims to highlight the importance of EU policies, supporting sustainable investment and competition. We believe that European policies should be based on long-term objectives, with regulatory intervention strictly limited to situations where the market fails to provide efficient outcomes.
Working with vertical players and policy makers, GIGAEurope aim to reduce market fragmentation and establish a level playing field across the whole digital ecosystem.
The associate/joint membership of CTAM Europe and GIGAEurope is open to organisations having an activity connected to distribution by Connectivity, such as content providers. The Entertainment, Media and Broadband industry, which provides internet, digital TV services, and telephony to more than 76 million customers.
GIGAEurope promotes the industry’s policies and business interests at European and international level, and are an engaged member of the technology standardisation community and an active player in the domain of related regulation.
While both the name and organisation have changed with the times, GIGAEurope’s members’ service offerings continually evolve even faster given our industry’s tight focus on investment-driven innovation. The association (with different names) has been active since 1955.
