Winners of the CTAM Europe Creative Award Program

10 October 2007, Zürich, Switzerland - CTAM Europe (Cable Telecommunications Association for Marketing) announced winners of their Creative Award Program (CAP) during the annual CTAM Europe EuroSummit 07 held in Barcelona on the 27 & 28 September.

The CTAM Europe Creative Award Program (CAP) is Europe's premier creative competition, which recognizes excellence in cable marketing and promotion and outstanding marketing achievements of networks, content providers and cable companies.

The competition is open to all CTAM Europe members. Cable operators, networks, and content providers submitted their most effective and creative marketing pieces in four entry categories: Brand Image & Positioning, Acquisition & Retention Marketing, New Product & Service Launch Campaigns and Interactive Marketing (on-line, digital media, etc).

"Our aim was to select the best creative campaigns from the cable industry. We had great number of entries, taking into consideration that this was our first year, altogether 75 in both the operators and networks & content provider divisions. Judges, from the cable industry and from the creative side evaluated the campaigns and selected the winners based on several benchmark criteria," commented Krisztina Homolay, General Manager of CTAM Europe.

The winners were announced on the first day of the EuroSummit conference during award ceremony, supported by Chellomedia Creative Services. "It was an honor for Chellomedia Creative Services to be sponsoring the very first CTAM Creative Awards Program (CAP), an event that showcased some of the best promotions and creative marketing within the cable industry across Europe. We look forward to participating in the 2008 event, where we know we can build on the success of this years awards program. These are very exciting times for CTAM Europe, for the Operators and Network Providers, having a place to celebrate hard work and great communication & marketing campaigns, I felt the CAP program was a huge success!" added Claire Jones, Head of Creative Services at Chellomedia.

The award ceremony was MC'd by Carmen Alzner, who has managed the European PROMAX BDA creative competition for many years.

The winners of the 2007 CTAM Europe Creative Award Program in the Brand Image & Positioning Category among Cable Operators are: Gold: Virgin Media - Virgin media Launch; Silver: UPC Switzerland- Cablecom Individual TV experience campaign; Bronze: UPC Broadband: UPC Brand re-launch. "We are very pleased to receive the Gold Award for our brand launch in early '07. We've been pleased with the response of our customers and the market, but recognition from colleagues always has a special resonance. We appreciate the effort and initiative shown by CTAM Europe and Chellomedia Creative Services in running the award program, and look forward to competing again next year," commented Ernie Cormier, Managing Director, Group Strategy & Corporate Development, Virgin Media.

The winners in this category among Networks & Content Providers are: Gold: Chellomedia - Sport 1 / Footbal EPL Arsenal vs Tottenham Campaign; Silver: Chellomedia - Sport 1 / Golf BMW International Open; Bronze: AETN International - Hippies Campaign.

In the Acquisition & Retention Marketing Category, among Cable Operators UPC Broadband with their "Triplets Sugar Campaign" took the Gold Award. "We are happy to see that our endeavour to increase the creative excellence at UPC and hence make our communication to existing and potential customers more entertaining and simpler has paid off. This direction is supporting our new brand vision totally. UPC is very proud of the creative awards we won because the acknowledgement will encourage our markets to continue on this track! We will back in the 08 competition for sure," commented Michaela Adami-Schrott, VP Marketing Communications Europe, UPC Broadband.

The Silver winner was: UPC Austria with the "The Musketeers Campaign" and the Bronze went to: UPC Poland for the "The Triplets - Getting Dressed" campaign.

In the Networks & Content Providers division, the Gold winner is: Chellomedia Film 1 - Highlights Campaign; Silver: Chellomedia On Demand Creative Services - UPC on Demand campaign; Bronze: Chellomedia Film 1 - Oscar Night

In the New Product or Service Launch Category among Cable Operators the Gold Award went to IKOM for their joint campaign with National Geographic Channel; the Silver to: Virgin Media for their V+ campaign.

In the Networks & Content Providers division, the following awards were given out: Gold: National Geographic Channel - HD Launch Campaign; Silver: Chellomedia On Demand Creative Services - Movie X vs Matrix Campaign; Bronze: HBO Poland - HBO Comedy channel launch campaign.

In the Interactive Marketing Category (online, digital media, etc.), awards were given out to Networks & Content Providers. The Gold Award winner is: AETN International - The Crime and Investigation channel website launch campaign; Silver: Multicanal Iberia - Photos with History campaign; Bronze: National Geographic Channel - "I did not know that" campaign.
