Hans Vanderstraeten, Ph.D.,
VP Business Development Europe North Cable Segment - Alcatel Lucent

Hans has been working in the communications sector for more than 15 years now. He is currently leading Alcatel-Lucent's European business development initiative into the Cable segment. Before that, Hans worked in several domains of the Alcatel-Lucent portfolio, including applications, the control layer, the transport and IP layers, and executed functions as diverse as product management lead, project manager of large-sized pan-european projects, and founder and manager of an internal start-up, among others.

In his current focus on the Cable Segment, Hans is bridging a solid insight into the evolution of the broadband area at large in the copper and mobile areas, towards a segment that itself has been instrumental in the broadband revolution in a very successful way.

Hans holds a Ph.D. in Physics, an MSc in Computer Sciences, and an MSc degree in Business Administration.
