Ashley Stockwell
Managing Director of Brand, Virgin Media

Ashley has worked for the Virgin Group of Companies for over 16 years. After graduating in Industrial Design, he launched straight into Design and Brand Management. He joined Virgin Atlantic in 1991 and led a number of design and brand initiatives including the launch of the innovative Virgin Clubhouse Lounge at London's Heathrow. He also helped redesign the entire Virgin corporate identity, and led the design and branding efforts for the new fleet of B747-400s and Airbus A340s.

Ashley then left to join the founding team that set up Virgin Drinks, and also worked on the development of Virgin Cinemas. He joined Virgin Trains as Design Director and led the rebranding and design for the new fleet of high-speed tilting trains, before spearheading a number of online initiatives at Virgin.com.

Ashley was then asked to create the new role of Group Brand Marketing Director for the entire Virgin Group, which worked across the range of Virgin businesses including Virgin Mobile, Virgin Megastores, Virgin Active, Virgin Money, and Virgin Galactic. It was during this time that he was appointed to the board of Virgin Enterprises Ltd, the owner of the Virgin trademark. It was in this role that Ashley got involved in the possible brand license with the UK cable operator NTL. He then formally joined what was then ntl:Telewest in early 2006 as Managing Director, Brand, to manage and lead the entire rebrand and cultural change program that would begin to transform the business into what is now the single biggest Virgin company in the world—Virgin Media.
