Angela Knewitz
Brand Innovation Director - MetaDesign, Berlin
Angela
Knewitz has been with Corporate Design firm MetaDesign, Berlin, for the last
three years. She has been responsible for the brand consulting practice, working for a
wide range of corporate clients—Automotive, IT, Business Services, and
Retail and Consumer products. Her main focus is developing strategic brand platforms to
for corporate, product or service brands and help transferring these into meaningful visible
identities as well as into internal brand commitment programs.
As newly appointed Brand Innovation Director, Angela's responsibility is to broaden
the MetaDesign scope to include innovative consultancy and design services to address
client's needs in putting their brand at the centre stage of corporate strategy.
After graduating in Business and Law, Angela rather atypically started in Advertising,
working as an Account Executive for Leo Burnett and, later, J. Walter Thompson,
mainly for FMCGs like Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Kraft Jacobs Suchard (Philip Morris),
etc. After six years in advertising, Angela switched to brand strategy and design
consulting, with a focus on helping to connect brand strategy to product language,
mainly for the Automotive sector, DIY tools, and household appliances.
Angela was founder and managing partner of London-based brand strategy consultancy,
Brandware Partners, which she successfully merged with MetaDesign in 2005. Angela has
lectured from time-to-time as well as published articles on brand strategy and product design.
For the past 10 years, MetaDesign has been Germany's leading corporate design firm.
Major clients include Audi, Volkswagen, The German Government, Infineon, Siemens,
DHL, and Kabel Deutschland.
