CTAM Europe Leadership Team

Jace Johnson
Secretary and Treasurer

Jace Johnson is the Regional CFO / VP of Finance & Planning for UPC Central Europe. As one of UPC's initial employees since 1995, Jace was hired for his M & A background and analytical skills, focusing on conducting due diligences and preparing business plans and valuations for the budding Central Europe Group.

In early 1997 Jace was assigned directly to the CFO of UPC where he developed some of the original business plans for the Digital Media Centre and the proposed launch of various UPC proprietary channels. In September 1997, he was further assigned directly to the Managing Director of UPC Austria, focusing on Internet and Telephony launches as well as the company's customer care consolidation. In addition, Jace acted as de facto CFO for the final 12 months of his assignment.

Jace joined the new Central Europe operating group as CFO in November 1999, where he refocused and restructured a majority of the group's finance and accounting departments, placing an emphasis on value-added staffing depth, business planning and controlling functions. His Internet business plan valuations were instrumental in rolling out Internet access services throughout the region in 2001 through 2004.

In 2003 all fiscal affairs associated with the UPC Direct (DTH) business line were put under Jace's control and supervision. In addition to his traditional CFO duties, Jace's efforts have also focused on M&A projects throughout the region, plus increasing UPC's cable footprint.

Prior to joining UPC, Jace spent two years consulting with the Resolution Trust Corporation (arm of the FDIC); Assistant Manager for three years with the Denver Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City; over six years in command and staff positions as a junior officer in various U.S. Army nuclear artillery units in West Germany.

Jace holds both a MBA with dual concentrations in Finance and International Management and a MA in International Relations from the University of New Mexico. Additionally, he holds a BS in Chemistry from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY.

UPC Broadband provides video, high-speed Internet access and telephony services over its networks and operates cable networks in Western Europe (The Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Ireland, Belgium) and Central Europe (Poland, Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic and Slovenia). In most of these countries it is the largest cable operator in terms of subscribers.
