Susan Elkington started her television career at BBC Enterprises Ltd in 1987 now BBC Worldwide, where she completed a number of assignments for the commercial subsidiary of the BBC; this included establishing the distribution of BBC programmes internationally, and launching BBC France Worldwide as Joint Managing Director in 1992. In 1993 Susan returned to the UK from Paris to run BBC Worldwide distribution business throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

In 1995, Susan was recruited to PolyGram Filmed Entertainment to establish PolyGram Television Ltd, the Television distribution arm of PFE, the new film division of PolyGram NV. In 1999, this business was sold to Seagram and Susan spent nine months working with Universal TV to integrate PTI into Universal and TV Networks Group.

In 1999, Susan was recruited by the Joint Venture Company of Disney, Sony and UPC to launch a new premium movie channel; this channel was successfully launched in May 2000.

Susan Elkington joined UPC Media in 2000 to set up the on demand unit of the media division (now chellomedia, Liberty Global). This Group has a remit to develop and launch Near Video On Demand (NVoD) & Video On Demand (VoD) services for platforms throughout Europe. arrivo on demand operates from London and the Digital Media Centre in Amsterdam. Susan has recently stepped into a new role at chellomedia, as EVP content Development with an objective to develop chellomedia’s portfolio of content brands and services.

Susan has an MA in European History and French, has a wide range of interests – skiing, wine, walking, rding and ran the London Marathon in 2002 for Barnardos, as well as the Lisbon and Bristol half Marathons in 2003, and walked the GR 20 in 2005.
